Privacy Policy

Kami is an iPhone app for saving and organizing recipes. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to make the app work — there are no accounts, no ads, and no third-party analytics or tracking.

Information we process

Recipe links & content. When you import a recipe, the link, text, or image you provide is sent to our recipe-conversion service to extract the ingredients and steps and to generate a recipe image. Converted results may be cached to make future imports faster. This content is not tied to your identity — the app has no sign-in.

Photos & camera. With your permission, you can take or choose a photo to attach to a recipe or to import/analyze a dish. Photos you submit for import or analysis are sent to the conversion service for that purpose. We never browse your photo library beyond the items you explicitly select.

Feedback. If you send feedback from inside the app, your message (and basic device information such as device model and OS version) is processed by our feedback provider to help us respond and prioritize fixes.

Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive your subscription status (active or not) so we can unlock Pro features — we never see your payment details.

On-device data. Your recipes, cookbooks, grocery lists, meal-prep plans, and nutrition entries are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us.

What we don't do

  • No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
  • No cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
  • No selling or renting of your data — ever.

Data retention

Cached recipe-conversion results are retained to improve performance for everyone. Data stored on your device remains there until you delete it in the app or remove the app.

Your choices

  • Delete any recipe, list, or nutrition entry directly in the app.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings.

Children

Kami is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
